Where the successful exhausts began!
The original Rotaflo muffler concept (similar to RFS 250) was developed in the early 90's by Graham Pyne (AEC) and Mark Marchesan (Exhaust Technology). It was built to cover the needs that road going Mazda rotaries had created in the market place. Mark remembered "The first muffler sounded like a train crossing", "it took many mufflers and a lot of development to get it right."
The first mufflers developed were primarily for naturally aspirated rotary engines in street registered standard and high performance cars. The great response and popularity across Australia inspired an expanding product range. The original mufflers served as a good platform upon which we have built the products we can offer you today.
Soon after, a re-packable race muffler was born to provide a race muffler for the circuit racing naturally aspirated high power ported rotaries. One of the first users in 1994 was Greg Mildren of Mildren Race Engineering in his Mazda Rx7 Improved Production Car. Greg went on to win many races and set lap records in this car.
Since these early days both design and production techniques have been refined to make noise control effective, ensure packing is long lasting and allows easy repacking when noise levels increase and power drops-off.
It was in the mid 1990's that the popularity and demand for mufflers suitable for rotary turbo's became evident. The development of the turbo range of mufflers was undertaken by Mark Marchesan, Shane Knight and Jon Roberts.
The range of mufflers we produce cater for the many different types of turbo rotaries including registered street cars, street drag race cars, standard turbo and high performance mild to wild ported engines.
Hundreds of mufflers have been sold all over Australia and various parts of the world, being used in all applications rotary from "mild to wild".
